Norbert the Gnome Knitting Pattern PDF
This pattern is for a Gnome knitted toy, and includes an additional pattern for a small watering can that he can 'hold' on his arm.
The finished doll sits at approximately 6.5 inches tall.
This pattern is suitable for experienced intermediate knitting ability, assuming an understanding of basic stitches and common knitting terms. This pattern will require the following skills;
Cast on, Knit, Purl, Knit front and back increase, Knit two together decrease and basic sewing skills.
It has been completed using the following recommended yarns:
- King Cole Pricewise DK in 1694 Bottle (Body, Hat, Coat)
- King Cole Pricewise DK in 149 Blush (Head, Hands)
- King Cole Pricewise DK in 48 Black (Feet/Shoes)
- King Cole Pricewise DK in 1 White (Beard)
- King Cole Pricewise DK in 3966 Meadow (Watering can)
This yarn is sold in skeins of 100g (approx. 282m/310y), which is more than enough to complete this pattern. If using an alternative brand of yarn, I recommend that you use a DK weight and a similar amount of yarn.
You will also require Toy stuffing (approx. 100g)
All pieces are knitting flat on straight needles and have been seamed using a mattress stitch. The cast on method that has been used for this pattern is the long tail cast on.
To complete the pattern you will also require:
- A pair of 3mm straight knitting needles
- A tapestry needle
- Scissors
