FAQs

In Dec 2024, the EU made changes to their GPSR guidelines requiring more stringent safety testing to any product being sold into the EU from a country outside of the EU. It also requires sellers to have EU authorised representatives to facilitate safety regulations in EU countries.
At this point in time, the requirements around digital products have not been made clear, and although it has been established that digital products must adhere to GPSR and can be in breach and liable for fines if not in accordance with the requirements, there have not yet been any guidelines or specifications released to explain how a digital product should comply.
So, at is time I have had to make the difficult decision to restrict the sale of my patterns to not be sold in EU member countries (including NI), so as not to be in breach of the legal requirements, until more information comes to light as to how I can make them available while following the GPSR requirements.

Don’t panic!
If you are having a bit of trouble with a pattern, or something isn’t quite making sense, please do reach out!
I am more than happy to work through a tricky section, or explain in more detail or help in any way I can.
-
Absolutely!
If you are interested in being a pattern tester please pop me an email using the contact page, and let me know what sort of patterns you like to knit (especially if you have made an Arty Crafty Alice pattern before) and I will add you to a list of testers.
When I have a pattern requiring testing, I will send an email to any testers from the list who may like to participate with details of the pattern available.
There is no financial reimbursement for pattern testing, but you will receive the pattern for free.

Yes, of course. The finished result of following my pattern is yours to do with as you wish and that includes selling.
However, they are NOT for use on any commercial, mass-produced scale, and I strongly encourage anyone that is intending to sell their items to ensure they comply with all safety regulation requirements including UKCA, CE and GPSR before selling.

First of all, I am so very sorry!
Despite rigorous testing sometimes typos or silly errors can slip past us.
Please check out the errata page to see if the pattern in question has been flagged up and if a new file is available.
If the pattern you have is not in the list and you still think there is an error the please do get in touch. I will always be very grateful for anyone taking the time to give me feedback for my patterns.

In this case, the download links will be cancelled preventing any further access, the consumer will be reported where required and no refund for the purchase will be made available.
